If you have the full and empty hive we are happy to come to your house and assist you to do the split or to do the whole split for you. You will need an empty hive and usually an offsite place to put the second hive for six weeks so the bees don't all go back to the original hive - they have an amazing GPS system and can travel up to 5km back to the hive. Having said that people have had success by leaving the hives next to each other or just putting them in another part of the garden.
We will bring our hive splitting equipment (knives, chisels, etc) and also masking tape to temporarily protect the hive until the bees sort it out - or we can use yours if you prefer.
Services are $50 each within 50km of our house and $75 for two hives on the same property.
We can travel further - travel price by negotiation! :)
*Please note that the price for hive splitting is labour only and doesn't include the hive needed to split into. We can supply one if you need it at a cost of $120 for a brand new empty hive.

We can set up hive duplication (or Hive Eduction) a non-lethal way of creating a new hive for you in your back yard.
