Empty hives ready to be used for a split or eduction.
Handmade from scratch with a double layer of Cypress Pine for insulation and tempreture control, these hives are also undercoated and then covered with a double layer of white SolarGaurd exterior paint for longevity.
They come with screws in the bottom to allow airflow and to discourage ants from taking up residence under the hive. These hives are designed to last in the hot Australian sun in your backyard!
Note: this does not include bees - you can not buy native bees separately. Your first hive MUST have bees in it. It is very difficult to capture a wild swarm. Please do not purchase one of these hives unless you already have native bees in another hive. Half Height Honey Super: $20 each

Empty supers to put on the top layer to increase the area for storage of honey and pollen. The bees usually deposit honey in the top corners. These supers come with an excluder board to stop the brood from growing into the honey super.
Recent research shows smaller supers are preferred by the bees.
Eduction Joiners: $15 Incl Postage
These joiners are for when you want to duplicate a hive by the eduction method. The joiner will allow the bees to travel between the hives freely and is easily disconnected when the front hive is full and ready to be moved.
Non-Standard hives: Price on Application.
Maybe you bought a hive that turns out to be a different shape and size from the industry standard, the OATH hive. We are happy to help you out and can create a new hive for you that matches the one you have so you can split it. Just give us a call and we will see what we can do for you!
Half Split Hives: Not yet available
Half Split hives are the result of a recent split where we sell the full bottom half as it has its defenses and structure in place. The top will be an empty top hive half and over the next 12 months the bees will build into it and all going well, your hive can be split a year after purchase.
With our wood order being delivered so late this year, we haven't got all of our splits done at this time and so don't have half split hives to sell at this stage. Keep checking back here and we will update this page as soon as we have hives with bees in them to sell. We expect to sell these for about $350 each.
Full Hives: Not yet available
